Tools & Software

The desktop, mobile and cloud tools used to run companies and build products.

Notion

Other

I run all my companies through Notion. I've turned it into an ERP that handles everything from company manuals and projects/tasks to vacation approvals, and of course everything private.

Google Workspace

Other

I mostly use Google Workspace for Gmail and Drive, but without it, working would feel like going back to cPanel Webmail and Dropbox. No thanks. It powers a ton of integrations, lets me sign in with Google almost everywhere, and makes employee access easy to manage.

7-Zip

Desktop

The only archiver worth installing. Twenty years old, one job, does it perfectly, asks for nothing.

Chrome

Desktop

Because I don't really care anymore; browser wars are the past. I only need it to work with a few extensions. I wish somebody would make a cloud-only browser: tabs, address bar, the whole UI in the cloud, so wherever I am it's the same browser session and UI.

Evoday

Mobile

I've tracked my days in Evoday for years: how much coffee I drink, hikes, swimming, sick days, 16-hour fasts, sugar-free days, and more. The data might be useful for research someday, but for now it's just nice to see my habit patterns.

QckMail

Other

My own app for sending reminders straight to your own inbox. Set it up once and use it anytime. The moment you open it, you're in writing mode; a single button to send the reminder. Super fast and useful. I use it every single day.

VSCode + Codex & Claude

Desktop

I use them all, but this is my main one. It gives me the best of all worlds without the limitations of the others. VSCode lets me see files, changes, commits, the terminal, browser previews, and AI chats with all the competing models in one place - all in a single view. It works perfectly with the clipboard, drag and drop, built-in AI browser use, and plugins for all sorts of hacks. Literally, no other AI app/IDE comes close.

Everything

Desktop

If only Microsoft would acquire them. 🙏 It searches every drive instantly, the app is smaller than 1 MB, and results appear as you type. Windows Search makes me wait forever, and still doesn't work nearly as well.

Notepad++

Desktop

The scratchpad that outlived every trend: quick edits, log spelunking, and the 47 unsaved tabs of a working mind.
